Dispatch from a Meeting of Legal Ops Leaders’ Minds

The UnitedLex team returned from the second annual Running Legal Like a Business conference with new connections and fresh perspectives on the future of the legal industry. As a sponsor of the Las Vegas event that lasted from September 2 – 5, UnitedLex enjoyed the intimacy of a smaller group setting compared to other industry conferences, noting their favorite aspect of the show was the intentional focus on community-building.

Subject Matter Experts Katie Bosley, Director of Legal Operations, and LeKeisha Suggs, VP of Intellectual Property, shared that the conference stood out to them because of the quality of attendees. It was clear the audience was experienced and knowledgeable, and the level of conversation in sessions, at the UnitedLex booth, and in the hallways and restaurants was impressive. The exhibit hall was the hub of the event, which led to more strategic conversations that focused on new and creative ways to partner.

New UnitedLex team member Jessica Broyles, VP of IP Services & Solutions, spoke on a panel titled Clarity in Chaos: Empowering Legal Ops Professionals as Entrepreneurs with other Adapt.legal members. She was excited about the dedicated Intellectual Property track this year, highlighting how its inclusion signifies the growing importance of IP in strategic legal planning.

A key theme throughout the event was the undeniable shift from if to how legal teams adopt artificial intelligence. Conversations focused on responsibly integrating AI into legal workflows to enhance efficiency, all while safeguarding business continuity and preserving the human expertise that drives meaningful outcomes. As exhibitors, it was productive to have a range of conversations that mirror the variety of ways that UnitedLex helps corporate legal departments, from litigation and IP to data breach and legal operations.

Sales team leaders Matthew Joyce, SVP of IP & Legal Ops, and Greg Duke, SVP of Business Development, weren’t surprised by the amount of booth traffic they received, sharing that many attendees were unaware of the breadth and depth of UnitedLex’s capabilities. Their favorite quote of the week? “Wow, UnitedLex really is a one-stop shop.”

If you couldn’t make it to RLLB this year, we’d love to catch up in other ways. We’re here to help. And mark your calendars for RLLB 2026, which will return to Las Vegas Sept. 8–11, 2026
